My ec’s and essays are fine, but unimpressive by duke standards. It hurts to know that my chances would have been higher than zero had i not ruined my freshman year. The warmer climate relative to the ivies, the ivies and california schools being too “woke,” the high school spirit and beautiful gothic campus are all attractive. Every duke student i have talked to has gushed about how amazing the student and academic/athletic life is there, so many are.
